Cocoa was ... first out of the litter box, first to walk, first to do just about everything-- except--- she was the last one born. She is not afraid to explore and gets outs and goes..... she is quite the character. All the pups were chunks but she was the biggest---at 9weeks she was 16 1/2 lbs. at 5 1/2 months...39lbs. She is almost a spittin image of Rosa, except red. She is about an equal mix of Rosa and BlackJack She turned on to stock big time at about 3 months, always slipping thru the fence to get to the stock. Seems to have good sense of gather and group stays off the stock fairly well. I'm well pleased. She shows great potential...at 10 months she is gathering and fetching sheep and I use her some for grazing sheep outside of the pasture fences. March 2010 Cocoa is doing nice long outruns of 1-200 yds with ease. Has started doing blind outruns and takes her commands easily. She knows her flank commands but not down solid yet. I use her for grazing out of the fence more now that Rosa is due with pups. I sit and let cocoa work on her own keeping the sheep within "imaginary boundaries" I set when I first go to an area to graze. I use her to move day old lambs and mommas and she is gentle with the lambs, patient with the ewes but will hit a nose if momma forces her to. Only thing that keeps her from trialing and titles is I'm not able to trial much...maybe once a year. and I do that with Rosa..her Mom. When I retire Rosa from trilaing, Cocoa will take her place.
