One pup has turned on to sheep, will get them next to fence and hold them there, block and not let squish out the sides. The other pups I dont think are far behind in turning on, they still lag back just a bit. Will continute to take them to sheep once a week and let them progress along. A few pics from today walking thru the pasture.
June 28, 2010 Pups are being crated individually. Started dragging a piece of baliing twine around and will soon be taught to lead. One balck male that I am keeping turned on to sheep yesterday. Later got in with some 500lb cows and was going to try to turn them, I went and rescused him before he got hurt..gotta keep better eye on that boy now. Solid red male--undecided..Fudge Black male with yellow ribbon--staying here or going to Indianna...Chubby Black female with frosty nose--staying here..named Frosty Black female with green checkered ribbon staying here...named Pleez Black male with blue ribbon-staying here....Him'll Do? Black male with purple ribbon..gone to Indianna Black female with green ribbon--gone to Indianna..now named Jet Flashy red/white male-- gone north about 40 miles to cattle farm, now named Bandit June 2, 2010 Pups got their first puppy shots yesterday and wormed again. Been worming them every 10 days. They are staying outside now 24/7 for the past 2 weeks getting use to sights and sounds and trying out their adventure skills. They venture all over the yard and out into the pasture, follow me to the pond/creek getting them use to water. Been thru rain and thunder storms and play,chase,sleep and eat with litter of 7 kittens that are about the same age. They know "Puppy Puppy Puppy" and come a runnin. Walking with 8 pups under foot and tugging chewing pants legs is a riot. One bites prety hard and get after him for that a bit. Pics are ramdom pups, the black ones---you seen one you pretty much seen them all, hardly any difference in markings-tho I can start to tell them apart by not looking at the ribbon colors. Both parents are here to see work along with a female Cocoa from the first cross 2/1/2 yrs ago. They are ready to go anytime but I prefer to wait till about the 10th or so to let them go. I feel there is a slight 'fear' period during the 8th week and also gives time fo the shots to kick in a bit. I dont ship by air, prefer you come to the house to pick them up. Video 1 Video 2 Video 3
May 18, 2010 Pups are growing like weeds, ankle biting and loads of fun to sit and watch. I cant tell the black ones apart unless I can see their ribbon collar...except a couple I can tell by the white on front feet and one female has just a tad of white around her nose. They all look so much alike, very litte difference in markings. Worming every ten days and get their first shots in a couple of weeks. 5 Weeks
May 2nd Pups are up walking, eyes open and starting to chew on each other a bit. Started feeding them some food soaked in milk. and started worming them. Had to put colored ribbons on them to tell the black ones apart. A few of the males are available , tho no specfic pup is committed to a specific home. At 7 weeks pups are chosen when personalities and all can be evaluated better. Short Video of the Pups 3 Weeks
April 24th Pups are growing like weeds....2 weeks old tomorrow. Ranged in weight yesterday from one at 2lbs even to one at 1lb 10oz, others 1lb 12 and 13oz.
WOO_HOO Eight little ones were whelped Sunday about noon. Rosa and pups are all doing fine Breakdown of color and sex 2 red males, 3 black males, 3 black females. All are bi and very minimal white except for one red male with a blaze and collar.
